Jane is also survived by two children, George Mc Gonigal (Cathy Emilian) of Ithaca, NY, and Peggy Richardson (Tom) of Watkins Glen, NY, and stepdaughter Penny Rose (Mike) of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren Jessica Franzese (Jim Stewart), Lorna Mc Gonigal (Tyler Schott), Katie Richardson, and Sam Richardson; great grandchildren Kirsten Franzese, Sean Franzese and Zora Jane Schott Mc Gonigal; sister-in-law Carol Harding (Bill); brother-in-law Bill Poyer; nieces Cathe, Maggie, Lisa, Susan, and Laura; and nephews Paul, Bill, Larry, Jim and their families.
Jane was predeceased by her parents, sister and brother-in-law Nancy and George Axinn, and sister-in-law Bev Poyer.
He loved dancing, wood carving, and writing poetry.
Harland is survived by his children, Dale (Lisa) Stephens of Hampton, VA, Yolanda (Billy) Peters of Sieverville, TN, and Dirk (Debbie) Stephens of Montour Falls, NY.
Marian worked at Artistic Cards in Elmira, and previously as a secretary at Bendix in Elmira. She loved to pick up sea shells on the beaches of Florida and Myrtle Beach.
Harland was born in Canisteo, NY on May 5, 1931, the son of the late Miles and Bernice (Potter) Stephens.
Jane was a visionary in distance learning, launching the use of satellite technology connecting CCE Associations with each other and the public.
She supported the CCE Innovation Fund, many student internships, and the Protestant Cooperative Ministry Board at Cornell University.
Jane was a founder of NY Farm Net, and former chair of the NY Farm Net steering committee.
She was honored with the 1997 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service, the 2009 NYS Friends of Extension Award and the 2014 Cornell University Outstanding Alumni Award. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a choir member, elder and Presbytery committee on ministry member.
